Beacon Autism - Carthage

What is Beacon Autism Center?

Beacon Autism Center provides direct special education services for students with Autism who experience significant challenges in the areas of communication, behavior skills, and social skills. These challenges limit the students’ access to general education environments with same-aged peers at their home district.

Students are referred to Beacon Autism Center by the member school district’s special education director. The referral includes data on previous interventions in the student’s home school. After the referral is reviewed and approved by members of the Beacon Board of Directors, the student’s IEP team will meet to consider a change of placement for the student.
