CBSS is a program serving students within Joplin Schools who experience challenges in Communication, Behavior, and Social Skills. The program provides direct special education services for students with significant disabilities in these areas within other districts’ less restrictive settings. These challenges limit the students’ access to general education environments with same-aged peers at their home buildings. Placement is determined by meeting criteria demonstrating the necessity of support and an IEP team’s determination of placement.
